Low back pain affects nearly one billion people worldwide, yet most are being overtreated with surgery and opioids that carry risks — or undertreated and told to simply live with the pain. Take Your Back Back offers a third path: the evidence-based, whole-health approach that leading researchers have long championed but that too few patients ever hear about.
With so many opinions, treatments, and conflicting advice, regarding low back pain it can be hard to know what actually helps. This book draws on extensive knowledge and real-world experience, as well as insights gathered from interviews with over 50 healthcare professionals—including chiropractors, physical therapists, neurosurgeons, and more—and breaks it down in simple, clear language so you can understand your pain and make confident decisions about your care.
Debunks common myths, explains how back pain actually works, and shows why conventional treatments often fall short.
An honest, evidence-based review of chiropractic care, physical therapy, exercise, CBT, manual therapies, medications, and surgery — with guidance on when each is appropriate.
A practical, personalized action plan: checklists, conversation guides for clinician visits, and a framework for building a whole health care team.
